About Jazz

The Jazz Program is an intensive artist development program for advanced early- to mid-career musicians, all about composition and collaboration in small groups. From day one, 15 fellows dive into intensive rehearsals, experimenting with different instrumental combos, and creating new music under the mentorship of our Jazz Program directors. They learn to adapt to the dynamic nature of jazz performance, where flexibility is key. By the end of the week, the musicians come together as three quintets to debut their original compositions at the Jazz Grandstand concert.

“The program has encouraged me to continue pursuing my craft to the highest degree and never give up my artistic integrity, even when faced with seemingly insurmountable challenges.”
