About the Performance
Ravinia is grateful for media support from
For nearly six decades, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band has shaped the landscape of American music, blending folk, country, and rock into a signature sound that has stood the test of time. From their breakout hit “Mr. Bojangles” to their groundbreaking Will the Circle Be Unbroken album series, they have collaborated with legends like Johnny Cash, Emmylou Harris, and John Prine while earning three Grammys and a place in the Grammy Hall of Fame.
Nitty Gritty Dirt Band is on their final tour—All the Good Times: The Farewell Tour—performing their signature blend of folk and rock across the US. In a statement, the band shared, “ ‘All the Good Times’ perfectly describes our career. Playing our music for Dirt Band fans all over the world has been an incredible experience for us. The most important part of that has been the connection to our audience—that beautiful communal give and take is like nothing else. That’s the very spirit we’ll be celebrating as we head into our farewell tour. We’re really looking forward to seeing you folks. Good times will be had by all!”
They are joined at Ravinia by special guest Brit Taylor, a self-described “what-you-see-is-what-you-get-kinda” gal. Born and raised in eastern Kentucky’s Appalachian Mountains, the country singer-songwriter embraces the traits of her home—family, faith, and community—while expressing her independence with a sense of beauty, honor, and humor. Today, she is devoted to artistic integrity, making music that matters, making music that has merit, making music that would make her Appalachian ancestors proud. With three albums, a Grand Ole Opry debut, and coast-to-coast touring under her belt, Brit has found her inner self and uses it as a guiding star for how she lives, how she writes, and how she sings.
