About the Performance
Ravinia is grateful for media support from

For nearly four decades, Alison Krauss & Union Station have upheld their legacy as one of the most influential and widely celebrated acts in bluegrass and roots music. Known for their immaculately crafted and exquisite sound, they evoke the sensibility of a bygone America while infusing it with modern songwriting and timeless emotional resonance. Their highly anticipated 2025 album Arcadia—the group's first in fourteen years– “shimmers with incandescent beauty” with each song offering “a little slice of perfection” (Folk Alley).
The players – Alison Krauss (fiddle, lead vocal), Jerry Douglas (Dobro, lap steel, vocals), Ron Block (banjo, guitar, vocals), Barry Bales (bass, vocals), and highly acclaimed and celebrated tenor vocalist Russell Moore (guitar, mandolin, lead vocal) – are five distinct personalities, each thriving in solo careers, yet together forming a peerless musical ensemble. Joining them at Ravinia is special guest Theo Lawrence, a young French-Canadian songwriter, musician & singer based out of Austin, Texas. Rooted in the country music songs of the 1950’s and 1960’s, Lawrence carries a perfect mix of styles & sounds, done with a deep love for tradition, yet bearing the mark of modern times.
“The stories of the past are told in this music,” says Krauss. “There's so much bravery and valor and loyalty and dreaming.” Together, this extraordinary group of musicians promises a transcendent evening that spans past, present and future—an unforgettable journey through the heart of American roots music, where every note tells a story.
