Now, the legendary duo is back together for the Room On The Porch tour—presenting a bold, fresh, and deeply soulful collection from their latest album that pushes their creative boundaries even further.
Crafted in just two weeks, their latest album is a testament to the enduring power of the blues and its global roots. “As much as it might feel like we’re touching on all these different genres, we’re just connecting with the music of our ancestors,” Taj reflects. With his signature depth and global influences—spanning the Caribbean, Africa, India, Hawaii, and beyond—Taj Mahal continues to redefine the blues.
Keb’ Mo’ brings his unmistakable sound and relentless drive to the project, stating, “I’m still breathing, and I’m still hungry. I’m still out there going for it every single day.”
The result? A collaboration as vibrant and revelatory as their debut—proof that when two legends come together, magic happens.
The legends are joined by Abraham Alexander, the Fort Worth-based songwriter, and guitarist whose single “Like a Bird” was recently nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song in the movie Sing Sing. Born in Greece, where he spent the early part of his life with the Acropolis as his playground, Abraham was transplanted to Texas in the early 2000s. A series of increasingly incredible chance meetings — including a life-changing encounter with Leon Bridges — led him to nurture his musical voraciousness, leading to his first album Sea/Sons.
From open mics in Fort Worth, TX to recent stints on the road opening for Leon Bridges, The Lumineers, and Mavis Staples — an instructive trinity for his sound — Alexander brings a refreshing musical fluidity as elements of folk, pop, rock, R&B, gospel, and even electronic music meld and tangle.
