About the Performance
Venerated as one of the greatest songwriters of all time, Paul Simon has nearly seven decades of timeless masterpieces filling his distinguished career, including “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” “The Sound of Silence,” and “Graceland.” Earlier this year, Simon received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2026 Grammy Awards, celebrating his contributions as “one of music’s great storytellers.”
Following wide acclaim, Simon brings his A Quiet Celebration Tour to Ravinia, performing from his Grammy-nominated album Seven Psalms and a selection of classics from throughout his career. Rolling Stone has praised the tour as “a victory lap for one of the greatest songwriters of the past century,” with the Los Angeles Times calling it “a beautiful benediction for one of America’s defining songwriters,” adding “take any chance you get to see him again.""
The concert is presented in two parts. The first half features a full performance of Seven Psalms, Simon’s 33-minute continuous composition hailed by Variety as “quietly stunning… unlike any other Simon album,” and praised by Rock Cellar as “a stunning achievement from an artist with a career full of them.” In the second half, Simon returns to the stage for a career-spanning set that blends beloved classics with deep cuts, highlighting the remarkable breadth of his catalog.
Don’t miss this opportunity to witness one of the greatest poets of American music this summer at Ravinia!
