Getting to Ravinia: Parking, Rideshare & Train

Free Parking Onsite • Free Metra UP-N Train

Park in the West Parking Lot at 201 Ravinia Park Rd. The lot opens 30 minutes before the listed “Public Gates” time.

Park and Ride shuttles are not in service for this event.

Alert your driver: Uber, Lyft, and other car services must use one of the following parking lots to drop off and pick up guests.

West Parking Lot (201 Ravinia Park Rd) — inbound access allowed up to 30 minutes before the end of the performance
Braeside Train Station (10 N. St. Johns Ave) — ¼ mile walk from Ravinia
Ravinia Train Station (680 St. Johns Ave) — ½ mile walk from Ravinia
No drop-offs or pick-ups are allowed on public streets. If Highland Park Police or Ravinia staff redirect traffic, please follow those instructions.

About the Performance

Since 1970, Opera for the Young has introduced more than 2.5 million children to opera. OFTY strives to ignite enthusiasm for opera in young audiences, broadening access to opera for the entire community.

Throughout the school year, OFTY brings live, professional opera to elementary school audiences with annual fall and spring tours. Students appear onstage in chorus and cameo roles, performing for their peers right alongside OFTY’s professional artists. All productions are fully staged, sung in English, and adapted especially for kids. Each year, OFTY reaches over 75,000 elementary school children throughout the Midwest to ignite an enthusiasm for opera.

This summer, OFTY is excited to present its delightful adaptation of The Magic Flute. This production offers a fresh take on Mozart’s timeless fable, promising a captivating journey filled with wonder, music, and adventure that will enchant both children and parents alike. Whether you’re a long-time opera lover or a newcomer to the genre, prepare for an unforgettable evening where the beauty and drama of opera come alive under the summer stars.
