About the Performance
From over 20 years in concert together, Joshua Bell and Jeremy Denk have “developed the sixth sense” for shared musicality (New York Times). This special performance—Bell’s first chamber concert at Ravinia since 1995—features the lush Romanticism of duo sonatas by Schubert, Grieg, and Ravel, plus a solo work each.
With a career spanning almost four decades, Grammy Award-winning violinist Joshua Bell CBE is one of the most celebrated artists of our time. He has performed with virtually every major orchestra in the world, and regularly appears as a soloist, recitalist, chamber musician, conductor, and as the Music Director of London’s Academy of St Martin in the Fields. In 2025, he was awarded an honorary Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire.
He is joined by pianist Jeremy Denk, one of America’s foremost musicians, praised by The New York Times as “a pianist you want to hear no matter what he performs.” Renowned for his imagination, depth, and wit, Denk is also a New York Times bestselling author, a MacArthur Foundation “Genius” Fellow, recipient of the Avery Fisher Prize, and a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
