When Coldplay’s Chris Martin calls someone “the best musician in the world,” people tend to listen (Rolling Stone). This summer, six-time Grammy winner Jacob Collier brings his astonishing musical imagination to one of Ravinia’s most intimate spaces—offering an exceptional opportunity to experience his genre-defying artistry up close.
Collier first captured global attention in 2016 when his intricate multi-instrumental YouTube videos went viral, catching the ear of legendary producer Quincy Jones. Under Jones’s mentorship, Collier released his debut album In My Room, a dazzling, self-recorded project that showcased his unique talents as a composer, arranger, and performer.
Widely regarded as one of the most inventive musicians of his generation, Collier has earned five Grammy Awards and numerous nominations, including an Album of the Year nod for his ambitious Djesse project. Across its four volumes, the sprawling musical journey expands far beyond the one-man studio approach of his debut, weaving together orchestral music, folk, R&B, rap, and pop and featuring collaborators from across the globe. Along the way, Collier has shared the studio with artists including SZA, Stormzy, Kehlani, John Mayer, T-Pain, Daniel Caesar, and Tori Kelly—further proof of the extraordinary musical community he’s built around his boundless curiosity.
At Ravinia, audiences can expect a night of dazzling musicianship, joyful experimentation, and the communal magic that has made Jacob Collier one of the most exciting live performers in music today.
