About the Performance
There are more songs for Christmas than all of the other holidays combined—and nothing captures the festive cheer of the season quite like brass! Over the past decade, brass concerts have become a cherished tradition at Ravinia, heralding the arrival of the holiday season. This Winter Weekend, Dallas Brass brilliantly takes up the celebratory spirit with A Merry Christmas with Brass, performing sacred and secular holiday favorites such as “Deck the Halls,” “Carol of the Bells,” “Frosty the Snowman,” music from The Nutcracker, and much, much more.
One of America’s foremost musical ensembles, Dallas Brass is a unique blend of traditional brass instruments with a full complement of drums and percussion, offering concerts enjoyed by the entire family. Each performance combines an extraordinary range of classical masterpieces and pop hits. The group’s 40-plus-year career has taken them to Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, CBS’s Early Show, and countless national and international tours. The Washington Post proclaims them “a first-rate brass ensemble,” adding they “could have toppled the walls of Jericho!”
