About The Artist

Following last year’s thrilling exploration of Paganini’s complete Caprices, Rachel Barton returns to show off more solo gymnastics on her violin. Long held up as the Everest of solo violin repertoire, Bach’s Sonatas and Partitas are divided between these back-to-back programs and interspersed with works by the instrumental masters who came before the Baroque maverick.

Rachel Barton Pine is the only American violinist to have been awarded the gold medal from the J.S. Bach International Competition in Leipzig, Germany, which she won in 1992 at age 17.
