About The Artist

When Itzhak Perlman crosses classical and folk music, the result is Rejoice, a program building on the success of his Eternal Echoes album, which the Los Angeles Times calls “a heaping serving of jumping Jewish dances and solemn music in the cantorial tradition.” Perlman describes his creation, drawn from both folk and liturgical traditions, as “Jewish comfort music,” combining Hankus Netsky’s Klezmer Conservatory Band, a small orchestra and the “sheer richness and expressive intensity” (San Francisco Classical Voice) of cantor Yitzchak Meir Helfgot.
