Concert Information

Throughout history, few places have proved such a fertile ground for music as Vienna. Bramwell Tovey returns to Ravinia to lead a program of works iconic of the city’s legacy, including the Blue Danube Waltz by J. Strauss Jr. Also featured is Brahms’s free-flowing Violin Concerto with Miriam Fried, threaded with the same gypsy spirit found in the composer’s Hungarian Dances. The evening culminates with a suite of dances from Der Rosenkavalier to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the birth of R. Strauss.
