About The Artist

Uzbek-born pianist Eldar Nebolsin, described by Gramophone magazine as a “virtuoso of power and poetry,” has assembled a fascinating before-and-after program presenting original works by Schubert and Beethoven followed by additional works by those same Viennese masters arranged for solo piano by Franz Liszt. Nebolsin concludes with a Liszt transcription of Liszt’s own music originally composed for piano and orchestra. The American Record Guide raves, “Clearly he has this music in his fingers . . . There is sheer pyrotechnic display on offer here that rivals the best,” and goes on to suggest that he “may well be the [Sviatoslav] Richter of his generation.”
