Soloists from the Chicago Symphony Orchestra
Here is an evening of mellifluous music with “no strings”—or, at least, hardly any. These composers were all inspired by the incisive tone of instruments that come to life only through the gift of human breath. Their music will showcase the staggering virtuosity of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra’s wind players in a widely diverse group of works demanding suave inflection, subtle musicianship and, of course, masterly breath control.
