Mexican-born pianist Daniela Liebman made her Carnegie Hall debut before she was in her teens, and last year Forbes Mexico named her—at the age of 13—one of the 50 most influential women in the nation. That same year, she made a special appearance at Ravinia for the inauguration of the festival’s newest Sistema Ravinia site in neighboring schools; Liebman now returns to make her Ravinia concert debut with the song (without words) and country dance of Mendelssohn’s “Scottish Sonata” and the sonic largesse of Mozart’s K. 333 sonata, an “orchestra-less concerto” with an operatic love duet at its center. Opening with Mozart’s spirited D-major Rondo, she also essays the idyllic, aqueous poetry of Chopin’s Third Ballade and cascading lines of Schubert’s D. 899 impromptus.
