A superstar of both operatic and concert stages—and now the screen, with her recent guest-star turn on Downton Abbey—soprano Kiri Te Kanawa will once again fill the Martin Theatre with a sample of the radiant artistry she imparts to Ravinia’s Steans Music Institute Program for Singers along with the program director, pianist Kevin Murphy. In addition to selections from her expansive repertoire, Dame Kiri will be performing the world premiere of a new work by Jake Heggie setting poems by Emily Dickinson, commissioned by Ravinia in honor of her 70th birthday.
