About The Artist

Hailed by Opera News as “one of those dramatic sopranos who can make one’s hair stand on end,” and by the New York Times as “a soprano of penetrating power and clarity,” Deborah Voigt holds a unique niche in America’s operatic pantheon as today’s pre-eminent interpreter of the demanding dramatic soprano roles. Her program reflects the sensibilities of our Liszt celebration, featuring, as it does, a generous sampling of some of the “greatest hits” of that repertoire by Wagner, whose music was championed by Liszt, and Richard Strauss, whose tone poems emulated those by Liszt.
