About the Artist

Singer, songwriter, and producer Natalia Lafourcade began writing songs at an early age and launched her first solo album in 2002. Over her nearly 20-year career, she has been part of countless musical projects, and among her most popular songs are “En el 2000,” “Un derecho de nacimiento,” “Hasta la Raíz,” “Nunca es suficiente,” “Tú sí sabes quererme,” and “De todas las flores.” As a composer, Lafourcade has been recognized on several occasions by SACM (Society of Authors and Composers of Mexico) and ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers), as well as honored with a heft of recording awards, including 15 Latin Grammys, 3 Grammys, and 3 MTV Awards, among others.

At the 2018 Oscars ceremony, she performed the theme song from Pixar’s Coco alongside actor Gael García and musical artist Miguel, and then at the 2019 Grammy Awards she sang with Aída Cuevas and Ángela Aguilar. Laforcade has also been a featured guest with several orchestras—first in 2010, singing traditional Mexican music for the bicentennial celebration of Mexico’s independence with conductor Alondra de la Parra and the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Americas, and recently with the Los Angeles Philharmonic at the invitation of Gustavo Dudamel, performing her own and other Latin American composers’ songs at the Hollywood Bowl.
