Program Notes

Each one of us has been, at some point in life, lost, disoriented, or in search for a safe and luminous path. This feeling of disorientation, leading at times to inner chaos, can also serve as the force that will drive us to begin the quest for new routes and ideas. Walking through the daunting sounds of Janáček’s emotional music and exploring the secretive alleys of various enigmatic pieces, from 17th-century Baroque all the way to music of our present days, I have decided to embark on a musical journey to the heart of a strange and dazzling labyrinth. Inspired by the Labyrinth found in Greek mythology, which symbolises audacity, inner search, transformation, and the possibility to experience unexpected encounters in life, this new program takes the listener on an imaginary musical voyage, to the heart of human soul and dreams.
