Give to RSMI

Since 1988, Ravinia Steans Music Institute has been committed to ensuring the future of classical music and jazz through accessible, high-quality, tuition-free professional studies programs. In order to attain the next level in their professional careers, conservatory-level musicians need instruction from distinguished faculty, connection with talented colleagues, and opportunities to perform. RSMI aims to provide “everything for the artist," and thanks to the generosity of donors, that is precisely what RSMI is able to deliver.

RSMI musicians each receive a fellowship covering the $10,000 in expenses incurred, allowing them to participate in a life-changing summer, immersing themselves in musical development at no cost to them. It is because of the generosity of RSMI’s dedicated donors that these programs continue to be offered free of charge to all participants. Support for RSMI covers instructional costs and room & board for fellows, allowing them to focus on their craft free from distraction or worry.

Ways to Give

Please support the residencies of the talented musicians at Ravinia Steans Music Institute and the concerts they present by making a tax-deductible gift to RSMI. Ravinia Annual Fund benefits are available to RSMI donors, and could include early access to upcoming season information, early notification of Ravinia Festival tickets, parking benefits, and early entry into the park.

Other opportunities to support RSMI include concert sponsorship and giving to the endowment.

RSMI relies on its endowment for over 75% of its funding. A gift or bequest of $300,000 can be designated to provide a full fellowship every year; $150,000 provides a half fellowship. In certain cases, planned gifts can be recognized as fellowships during the donor’s lifetime.
