"We believe in the power of live music moments to inspire ourselves and the world"

Who We Are

Nestled in a near northern suburb of Chicago, Ravinia is an internationally renowned, not-for-profit music festival that presents an inspiring mix of concerts each summer. Featured events include a six-week residency by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, an extensive chamber music series, popular films shown with their orchestral music played live, and performances by chart-topping hit-makers.

Our Mission

Like you, Ravinia is more than what you see on the surface. Our music mission extends beyond the stage into the community, the classroom, and professional life. Ravinia’s Reach Teach Play education programs provide access to music to over 20,000 students each year through Guest Artists in the Classroom, One Score One Chicago, Music Discovery, and Sistema Ravinia among other connected initiatives. The Ravinia Steans Music Institute (RSMI) is a highly sought-after international destination for young professional musicians to engage in a life-changing summer of mentoring and performance, entirely tuition-free, with the guidance of globally recognized artists.
