Gala Benefit
Hosted by the Women’s Board of the Ravinia Festival
Saturday, July 27, 2013
This year’s Gala will feature established pianist, Lang Lang, who made his surprise debut at Ravinia in 1999 accompanied by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Under the baton of Maestro James Conlon, Lang Lang will be performing works by Verdi, Beethoven, Prokofiev and Wagner. Lang Lang possesses a unique methodical technique, coupled with penetrating insight, artistry and musicianship that bring his performances to life.
This special evening is hosted by the Ravinia Women’s Board and is the only performance fundraiser benefiting the Festival and its REACH*TEACH*PLAY education programs. The Gala supports Ravinia’s commitment to musical excellence, innovation and service to Chicago neighborhoods. Last year, these programs reached over 75,000 students, families and community members.
The evening begins at 5 p.m. with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres on the lawn before guests are escorted to the performance in the Pavilion at 7 p.m. Dinner on the north lawn under the Gala Marquee will begin immediately following the concert. This 2013 Gala Benefit is co-chaired by Women's Board members Caroline T. Huebner and Lisa Brown Tribbett. Together with Jeanne M. Denison, Chairman of the Ravinia Women’s Board and a hard-working committee, a superb evening is being planned.
Tickets for this black-tie Women’s Board Gala, including priority seating for the concert, are available to individual benefactors from $750-$2,500. Tables of 10 are sold at tiered prices from $7,500 to $50,000. For more information, or to purchase tickets, please call 847-266-5045 or email gala@ravinia.org.
