Program

Comprising graduates of the Juilliard, Curtis, Manhattan, Mannes and Eastman schools of music, this New York-based ensemble has forged a unique fellowship of collaborative musicians, transforming our awareness of what an orchestra can be when each member helps to shape and refine the overall ensemble. The resident chamber orchestra for the Music At The Anthology (MATA) Festival for young composers since 2006, The Knights are avid champions of music of our time, and their Ravinia debut program features a dazzling variety of contemporary styles, including the rarely heard original 13-instrument version of Copland’s infectious Appalachian Spring.

Frank:       Leyeandas: An Andean Walkabout
Adams:     Christian Zeal and Activity
Golijov:     Last Round
Golijov:     Doina and Lullaby
Copland:   Appalachian Spring (original 13 instrument version)
Bernstein: Selections from West Side Story
