Access Monitor
An Access Monitor’s responsibilities include managing traffic flow during daytime hours, checking identification and securing park entrances prior to opening. Monitors will also be expected to assist management with general customer service issues as needed.
Dates/Availability
Applicants must be available May 28th through September 1st (weekends and holidays required) between the hours of 7am and 5pm.
Compensation
$8.00/hr, 25-40hrs/week
Qualifications
Must be willing to work within a team structure. Strong communication skills are required. No specific job experience needed. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.

Assistant to the Facilities Day Manager
Date of Employment and Hours: Mid/late May through mid-September, 7:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m., five days a week including Friday, Saturday and Sunday
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist the facilities day manager in preparing the park each day during the Ravinia summer season.
- Coordinate with food service catering manager to provide all equipment required for catered events / tables, chairs, electrical cords and sound equipment.
- Perform set up and maintenance of park equipment and displays / installing banners, changing light bulbs on outdoor structures etc.
- Ensure that park is ready for opening each day.
- Working outdoors daily
Requirements:
- Candidates must be 19 years or older
- Must have a clean driving record and a valid driver’s license
- Dependability is key, high expectations to be prompt, on-time and to follow your work schedule
- Hard-working and dedicated
- Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
- Minor mechanical skills are beneficial
- Must be able to follow instructions and work on your own
- Must have great interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to climb ladders without difficulty
Compensation: $8.50/hr, 40 hrs/week, possibility of future employment in the coming summers if excellent worker

Assistant to the Facilities Manager
Date of Employment and Hours: Mid/late May through mid-September, 3 p.m.-11:30 p.m., five days a week including Friday, Saturday and Sunday
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist the facilities manager in preparing the park each day during the Ravinia summer season.
- Approximately one hour of the eight-hour work shift will include driving a pick-up truck, placing and collecting road signs throughout the Highland Park area.
- Monitor the park during open hours and attend to any facilities-related need
- Assist in closing the park at the end of each evening
- Working outdoors daily

Production Internship
The Ravinia Festival Association is seeking a team of Production Interns to assist in the coordination and execution of all backstage operations for the 2008 summer season. These positions are highly coveted, and past employees have gone on to obtain full-time employment with major arts organizations.
Dates of Internship: Late May/early June through mid-September 2008.
General Responsibilities
Members of the internship program will perform the daily operations of the Production Department including, but not limited to: artist scheduling and transportation, hospitality, setting dressing rooms, restocking inventory and general office work.
Requirements
- Ability to work well as part of a team and independently.
- Strong communication, organizational and problem solving skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Clean driving record.**
- Excellent computer skills.
- Reliable source of transportation.
- Ability to work outside of normal business hours (extensive evening and weekend hours, some seven-day work weeks).
- Employees are required to sign an employment agreement and a confidentiality agreement.
Internship
In addition to the general responsibilities, the internships will focus on substantive areas of production management including: arts administration, music business, stage management, technical coordination, information technology and production coordination. Candidates with any of these backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Ravinia is a union house, so there are no technical/on-stage aspects to this position.
Compensation
$7.50/hour. Thirty to sixty hours per week with opportunities for overtime pay. Free attendance at all concerts. Some meals provided.
Ideal candidates will also offer some of the following skills/experience:
- Knowledge of performing arts
- Knowledge of Microsoft Access, Word and Excel
- Excellent typing and proofreading skills
- Knowledge of Chicago attractions, roadways and public transportation
- Customer service experience
