The future of classical music and jazz depends in part on the availability and accessibility of quality, tuition-free professional studies programs like
ours. In order to attain the next level in their professional careers, these musicians of great natural ability need instruction from distinguished faculty
as well as opportunities to perform.
RSMI incurs over $10,000 in expenses for each fellow to complete their intense immersion each summer. The generosity of RSMI’s dedicated donors allows
these programs to be offered completely free of charge to the participants. Support for RSMI covers all costs for the fellows, allowing them to focus on
their craft free from distraction or worry.
Please support the residencies of the talented musicians at Ravinia’s Steans Music Institute and the concerts they present by making a tax-deductible gift.
Ravinia Annual Fund benefits are available to RSMI donors as well.
An annual gift of $10,000 fully supports one fellow. Half fellowships are available for $5,000. Gifts at any level are welcomed and may be designated for
the Program for Jazz, Program for Piano and Strings, Program for Singers, or general support.
RSMI relies on its endowment for over 75% of its funding. Gifts to the endowment are always welcome. A gift or bequest of $300,000 can be designated to
provide a full fellowship every year; $150,000 provides a half fellowship. In certain cases, planned gifts can be recognized as fellowships during the
