Ravinia is looking for a new Scene from Childhood! If you are a budding composer between the age of 10 and 16 we invite you to submit a short original piano piece, no less than 30 seconds and no more than 3 minutes long. A selection of the compositions will be performed in the Martin Theatre at Ravinia on September 13, along with the world premieres of the 13 contemporary Scenes from Childhood commissioned by the Ravinia Festival (see Ravinia's New Scenes From Childhood) .
The deadline for submission is August 15. If hand-written, the musical manuscript should be neat and legible. A printed score using computer music notation software is acceptable. The piece should be titled and be accompanied by a short 150-250 word description. Please also include your name, age, school, address and contact information.
